Eva Webb's Story: A Return to Hair, Fueled by Creativity and Care
After more than a decade away from the salon industry, Eva didn’t come back on a whim - she came back with intention. With years of experience in both cosmetology and dental assisting, her decision to return to hairstyling was driven by a need to reconnect with creative work and build meaningful relationships with clients. Now, as a full-time stylist at Kate Kandel Salon, she’s bringing a refreshed perspective, steady confidence, and a genuine passion for her craft.
Originally from Lincoln, Alabama (best known for the Talladega Superspeedway), Eva started her career as a hairstylist at 19. She spent 10 years behind the chair, growing her technical skills and building strong client relationships. After having her first child, she stepped away from the salon and transitioned into dental assisting - a field she stayed in for over a decade while raising her family.
“I learned a lot in that time, but I also realized that something was missing. I needed a creative outlet again.”
That realization led her back to the salon world - and specifically, to Kate Kandel Salon.
Returning with Intention
When Eva decided to return to hairstyling, she didn’t want to just rely on her past experience. Eva reentered the industry with intention, choosing to update her skills and stay current with evolving techniques - a reflection of her professionalism and commitment to growth.
Through the Emerging Artist program at Kate Kandel Salon, Eva received focused training, mentorship, and hands-on experience with fresh perspective and updated techniques. She describes the mentorship from Kate and BreAnna as different but complementary. “That support helped me feel like I wasn’t just thrown in - I was guided.”
One of the biggest differences Eva has noticed since coming back is the way consultations are handled. “When I did hair before, it was more about giving people exactly what they asked for. Now, it’s about collaborating - really listening, then guiding with professional recommendations. Clients come here wanting to know what you think and what will actually work for them.”
Beyond the Chair
When she’s not in the salon, Eva’s world is filled with family, pets, baking, and gaming. She and her husband, a full-time musician, live in Greenville with their two kids, Fox and Rivers, plus a German Shepherd, two cats, and a bunny.
She’s an excellent baker - the kind who almost made it onto The Great American Baking Show, and who can sculpt a pie crust into the shape of Arya Stark from Game of Thrones. Her brown butter chocolate chip cookies are the most requested by friends, though she admits that lately, gaming has taken up more of her time. “Let’s be real - I probably play more Fortnite than I bake. But that’s how I connect with my kids now. We don’t sit on the floor with toys anymore - we play Fortnite and watch anime together.”
Looking Ahead
Now that she’s stepping into her role as a full-time stylist, Eva is excited to keep growing - not just in her technical skills, but in how she connects with clients. “I’ve had time to really think about what kind of stylist I want to be, and how I want people to feel when they’re in my chair. I want them to feel beautiful. But even more than that, I want them to feel cared for and heard.”
We’re so glad Eva is part of the Kate Kandel Salon team - and we can’t wait for you to sit in her chair.
