I have been doing hair since 2009. After becoming a licensed stylist, I went to college for business entrepreneurship with the goal of opening my own salon one day. While taking classes, I worked full time at a salon and did hair for my classmates, roommates, professors, and people in town. That experience gave me the opportunity to constantly improve my skills while also taking on managerial responsibilities.
After a few years, I decided to move to Greenville for several reasons. I wanted to be closer to family, it was a great place to open a business, and I saw the industry evolving, especially with the rise of Instagram. I worked at a salon for a couple of years before branching out on my own. During that time, I became an educator for Kevin Murphy and discovered my love for teaching.
As I started building a team in Greenville, I realized how much I enjoyed helping other stylists grow. My brother moved from California, and together we opened a salon. It has been an incredible journey, and I love what we have built.
I have been fascinated with hair for as long as I can remember. When I was two years old, I was braiding Barbies’ hair at my brother’s basketball games. By first grade, I was already cutting hair. My neighbors used to come over to get their hair done before school, and I loved every minute of it.
As I got older, I started doing hair and makeup for proms and weddings. I was lucky to be in an environment that nurtured my creativity. In high school, my parents helped me realize that I could turn this passion into a real career. That changed everything for me.
At first, it was all about the craft, but I quickly realized that what I loved most was making people feel good. Seeing someone light up when they love their hair is what drives me. Over time, my passion expanded beyond just doing hair. I found purpose in mentoring and helping other stylists become better at their craft.
Everything starts with the consultation. Communication is one of my top priorities, so I take time to understand my client’s goals. Most of the time, they are looking for guidance on their haircut or color, and I love being the person to help them make those decisions. I always explain the reasoning behind my recommendations so they feel confident in the plan we create together.
Once we get started, I keep clients informed at every step so they can fully relax. As I use products, I explain why I chose them and how to use them at home, but I make sure not to overwhelm them with too much information.
At the end of the service, I want my clients to have that moment where they look in the mirror and feel amazing. I also make sure they know what to expect in terms of maintenance, when to book their next appointment, and how to keep their hair looking its best.
