In my first two years as a hairstylist, I worked at four different salons. Each one didn’t work out for different reasons, but they all helped me figure out what I didn’t want. As a new stylist, I didn’t know exactly what I was looking for, but those experiences showed me I needed a good environment, a positive culture with the other stylists, and opportunities for education and mentorship.
When I found the Kate Kandel Salon website, I was impressed. There were no typos, all the links worked, and it was beautifully designed - that alone set it apart from the other salons I’d worked at. During my interview with Kate and Michael, we really hit it off, and I could tell I’d be in good hands. I also wanted the best not only for myself but for my clients, and I knew immediately that Kate Kandel Salon would provide that.
I was right - it’s been amazing. There’s room for growth here, and you’re not stuck hitting a brick wall. If you just want to be a stylist, you can, but if you want more, like me, there are opportunities to challenge yourself. I’ve loved helping other stylists grow, and it’s been wonderful.
