Kate Kandel Salon Suite opened its doors for business on January 23, 2018.
As I come to the end of week two at my own salon suite, I have to step back and reflect on how thankful I am for my amazing clients, my salon team, and my supportive family and friends. I'm blessed to have learned very early on that I get a lot of joy from making people feel and look as special as they are.
Up until two weeks ago, my business cards said "Hair Stylist". Now I am exciting to add "Owner" to them. I was lucky enough to discover my passion for cutting and coloring hair early. If you look at my eighth grade yearbook under, “what do you want to do when you grow up?”, you’ll see in great big letters “OWN A SALON”. I'm happy to say, my place isn't called Kate's Kutz (yes with a Z) like I thought it would be in middle school. So here I am eight years after finishing Cosmetology school and I’ve done it! It took many long nights and stressful days but I can say without a doubt it was all worth it. I went to business school in anticipation of the day I would step out on my own. I now get to join the ranks of the other amazing female entrepreneurs.
I moved to Greenville, South Carolina two years ago. It is an amazing city filled with talented people. This city is growing every day and I'm so excited to continue learning and now mentor new stylists at my own salon.
Thank you to everyone who has helped support me over the years! It doesn’t go unnoticed.
